Worry, Worry, Worry

I had always heard of people with IF worrying after they got pregnant. I told myself that I would worry a little but not much. Well IF has really done something to me. Since I found out I was pregnant...all I do is WORRY!! I really need to stay busy today because yesterday I didn't do much and I worried ALL day. I keep praying that everything go okay and for some of the worry to go away. For others who have been through this...what did you do to stop worrying so much??

I don't know how to tell you stop worrying but know your not alone. I feel like thats all I do. Even after seeing a good u/s that only makes me stop worrying for like and hour and then I worry again till the next one!

I don't know about the rest, but the only time I didn't worry was when I was in the drs office and could hear the heartbeat. The second I left, I started worrying again. Although once you can feel the baby move, it does get a little easier...
Once you are released from your RE's expect it to get harder as the regular OB will only schedule you once a month and normally will only do 1 u/s.

Ashley, after you have your first U/S you should start to feel better. It is very hard until the little one starts wiggling around and they are big enough to feel. But, when I had my first u/s and my doctor said that if something were to go wrong there was a 90% chance it would have already, I felt SO much better. I'm praying for you. I think you are pregnant for a reason. Just pray for peace until you get to see that tiny little heartbeat! :)

i worried through the whole first trimester. i didn't think i would, but it seems natural. it was really hard to transition to my ob because i only go in once a month, as opposed to every week with my re. the u/s do help by being able to hear the hb and see the baby moving. i just keep telling myself that there's no reason for anything to be wrong.

First, congratulations! Just catching up on your good news. If it helps at all, you are not alone. I have been worrying nonstop since hearing my news this week as well! I think the only thing we can do is catch ourselves worrying, tell ourselves that it's out of our hands (because it really is) and distract, distract, distract until we pass those milestones. Sending you lots and lots of positive vibes!

Nothing. There's nothing you can do to stop worrying. Infertility can ruin all ignorance and bliss when you finally become pregnant. When I was pregnant with my husband for the first time I didn't worry in the least bit, at least not about miscarriages anyway. I wasn't worried about rising beta's or anything else for that matter, I was just blissfully happy. When you've experienced any traumatics involving pregnancy or lack there of, when you do get pregnant your mind is just going to be full of worries and wondering about all of the "what if's". It's terrible and it's sad that we have to feel this way after all we've already been through. But unfortunately, I believe it's inevitable. I'm still worried and I'm already in my third trimester. Take it one day at a time and pray, pray, pray. Thinking of you!

I think it is absolutely normal to worry honey. It is easier to say try not to but we all know that is really hard to do. Just stay positive and have faith in God. I am so excited for you!

Honestly, I DO still worry. THe worrying in the beginning-- before the first ultrasound-- was the worst. The only thing I did to lessen the worry was to realize that it was out of my hands at that point. I was doing all that I could to stay healthy for myself and the babies and the rest was not up to me to control. Now, I do still worry. I worry when I wake up and I'm not achey. I worry when I don't feel like my stomach is as big as yesterday.

BUT there is less worry now because there is more reassurance that things are moving along. However, I really don't think that the worry will EVER end. :)

So, all I can say is-- do your best to enjoy it! But when I did the IVF we got a handout from the doctors reminding us that worry (at least a reasonable amount) WON'T hurt the baby. So, try your best not to worry-- but it's inevitable, normal, and not going to hurt your chances!

It's common for all pregnant women to worry. It will probably continue until that baby is in your arms, and then it's just begun, because there's a whole host of other things to worry about! You just have to trust that it's all in God's capable hands. Not easy to do, for sure, but if you have faith, then you know that He's in control and it makes it easier to let it go. Staying busy is a good idea too!

I wish I knew the secret to this one, but unfortunately, I have not figured it out yet. Two things I try to do to help the worry stay manageable: Avoid Googling random things like "miscarriage risk" or "beta results"... it doesn't help. The other thing is I try to keep myself extremely busy. The worry gets better each week, and I know it will for you too. You will feel better after you see the ultrasound, after the heartbeat, etc. It will get better, I promise! But I am 12 weeks today (woot woot!) and I still listen to their heartbeats on my Doppler. I don't think it ever totally goes away.

Good things are in store for you, I promise. I can't wait to hear your GOOD news. :)

Hugs and hang in there!

First of all CONGRATS!!! I haven't had time to read everyone's blogs in a while and I'm regretting it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second of all...I haven't been in your position yet...but I know that even girls who aren't IF girls worry too...but we worry even more because we just know way too much about this whole process!!!

Praying Phil. 4:6 for you... "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

I know that not worrying is easier said than done though...

Grow little bean! Grow!!! :o)

Hhmmm. . .? I don't know. I'll let you know when I stop worrying. Don't hold your breath. :)

Every new stage brings new worries. I do try to cancel out a worry with something positive. It gets a little easier the further along you get but not much. It just changes.

I always think, once I have her in my arms I can relax, but I think that is where new worries begin. And those worries last a lifetime. . .

I guess I was no help.

Sorry this is so late, but CONGRATULATIONS! I just got back from a long weekend away (trying to expedite the 2ww), and I saw that you're pregnant! I'm so thrilled for you, and I can't wait to read along with this journey and how everything goes for you!

I wish I could tell you that it gets easier and that the worry goes away, but it doesn't. It may subside a bit after 12 weeks. All I can say is to cherish each day and be thankful for each day you have with your little one.
