Wimberly WImberly Go Away

Well yesterday and today, I have had dull sensations in my cervix, every now and then. The Wimberly in me started to worry (of course). I debated on if I should check my cervix. I washed my hands and checked it. I was surprised to find that it was soft and felt slightly open...the tip of my finger could fit in it. I was worried so I called the on call doctor. She told me that they don't like patients to check their own cervix..I didn't expect they did. She said what I was telling her seemed really normal and if I had really bad cramps or tons of bleeding then they would be worried. I asked her if it could be from the hematoma and she said yes. I forgot to ask her if it could be from the progesterone inserts. So my questions ladies is should I be worried about this??? My next appointment is on July 27th. What do you think???

I don't know what to tell you...I've never felt my cervix so I'm not sure what its supposed to feel like...maybe just wait until your next appointment for the pros to check it out.
That is nerve wracking though...praying for you!

Never felt my cervix either. I would wait for the next appointment too. It's so so so hard not to worry yourself into a frenzy during this time but it's gonna happen unfortunately. I'm still worrying! :)

Even me the worrier would wait. It is really early to have any changes in your cervix- that is what my doc told me at twelve weeks with triplets! Easy to say, but I would not be concerned unless you were in pain too.

Sending peaceful thoughts to you and big hugs. Everything will be okay!!!

I don't know anything about checking a cervix... but right around 11 or 12 weeks I started to get dull aching caused by ligament pain in the whole area. It stays and just gets worse! But it's completely nothing to worry about. Just a thought. Hope you start to feel better!

What Stacy said is true... I should've added that with this pregnancy AND my daughter I had a weird twitching in the cervical area... and all was normal!

I am 23 weeks pregnant, but a few weeks ago I had some very light pink spotting, so they did vaginal exam on me. The doctor told me that sometimes the opening of the cervix gets a little irritated, and that the hole is a bit larger (but not dilated). That area during pregnancy is very vascular and filled with blood. I actually checked mine the other day and and low and behold, it felt a little open! So, no worries! Everything is fine.

I have no idea what my cervix is suppose to feel like so i can't help. I'm sure everything is ok and the "wimberly" in me is always around with everything little twinge i feel!!!! I have been feeling weird zappy kinda pains around my cervix lately, i'm guessing just round ligament pain. HOpe your weekend is going well despite your worries!!

I don't know what it's supposed to feel like in there, but I DO know that I have had tons of twinges, aches, twitches, tightness, etc. all over since becoming pregnant. I think what you are feeling is probably totally normal...the fact is you have such low odds of anything going wrong at this point. But I KNOW (believe me) how it feels to worry, so could you possibly go in for just a quick heartbeat check to ease your mind? By now yours should be audible on doppler (mine was this past week when I did this...it really helped calm my fears). It takes them 2 seconds and makes a world of difference for you!

No, you shouldn't worry. I checked my cervix too and it felt like that when I was pregnant. You are fine :)

If I've learned anything it's that worrying won't fix a thing. I can completely relate as I had bleeding from 6 weeks to 14 weeks. It is a nerve wracking time. I think pregnancy in general is! I keep waiting to relax and I still haven't! So, all of that to say, try to relax. All you can do is pray and hope for the best. You are doing all you can do and there is nothing else that can be done. Just rest in the fact that God is in control and that no amount of worrying you do will change a thing. I'm trying to take my own advice! Hang in there!

I posted about this a few months ago. I felt the same weird cervical twinges. I do believe now that it was just part of the expanding, round ligament pains that can shoot down your vagina and even into your inner thighs. There is a lot of stretching going on in there already.

I do think the progesterone inserts can have an effect on your cervix. I know they can irritate it and cause spotting too.

Be careful touching your cervix too much. You don't want to mess with it too often and irritate it or it might make you crampy. I guess I'm lucky I could never find mine. :)

Also, I think 12-13 weeks is way too early to check for cervical incompetence. So wait a few more weeks before you worry about that.:)

Hang in there. I know, every stage is tough. As you know, I still worry. . .

Oh my goodness...I tried checking my cervix as well when I was preggo and felt the same thing you are. We really don't know what were feeling for...I would leave it to a doc. If I were you I would call to have them check you - just to put your mind at ease otherwise all you will do is worry.
